Located in central Switzerland, Engelberg is a resort easily accessible by car or train. One of the closest and easiest resorts to get to from both Basel and Zurich airport, it makes having even long weekend getaway easy and possible.

The ski area isn’t the biggest with regards to kilometers of slopes (82km), but what it does have is fantastic. The village sits at just over 1000m above sea level, and the highest lift reaches above 3000m. This is one of the many reasons that makes Engelberg so special and if you are a Freeride enthusiast, there’s not many resorts in the world that can compare.

For beginners, there’s great beginner friendly slopes down in the village at the Klostermatte, overlooking the 12th Century Benedictine Monastery, as well as at Gerschnialp at 1300m, a short lift up the mountain.
